The Visibility Shortcut Everyone Ignores

Corpus grounding

Why this works

The finding-clients post in stage1 covers general prospecting. This post is a specific, counterintuitive tactic: event organizers are often overlooked as a distribution channel because everyone is focused on reaching the end audience directly. The insight is that event organizers are hungry for content about their events — which gives you an asymmetric access point.

Draft LinkedIn post

If you're trying to get visibility in a local market and you're only posting to your own feed, you're working too hard.

Here's a thing I started doing that actually moves the needle: find the people who run local events and reach out to them.

Not to pitch your services. To offer something.

Event organizers — the person who runs the chamber breakfast, the local business association meetup, the neighborhood arts event, the monthly networking thing — are almost always underpowered. They're trying to fill seats, document what happens, get coverage, and make the thing look alive online. They want someone to show up with a camera. They want to be interviewed for a podcast. They want a content person who's interested in what they're doing.

Most people looking for visibility don't think about this because they're focused on reaching the end audience directly. But the event organizer already has that audience. And they are needy in the most useful way.

I've gotten into rooms in Atlanta and Albuquerque I couldn't have bought my way into just by being useful to the person running the thing. Show up, film something, give them the footage. That's it. You just became part of the story.

The reciprocity isn't calculated. You're not doing it because you expect to get something. But the visibility tends to follow anyway, because you're now the person who shows up.

There are local event calendars in every city. Most of them are not optimized for anything. The person running them probably has a spreadsheet and is stressed about turnout.

That's a door. Walk through it.
