529 — Cold Outreach

Target: 529 (East Atlanta Village, 529 Flat Shoals Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30316)

Tier: C — community / long-game

Channel: Instagram DM (@529_eav) — primary; no named contact available

Ref: C10 in targets.md

Built: 2026-05-27

Context

529 has been the EAV underground since 2008 — musician-owned from the start, built as a home for the DIY scene rather than as a bar concept that happened to book bands. That origin shows in the programming: punk, hip-hop, and experimental on the same calendar six nights a week. Those three genres don't normally share a room. They do at 529 because the people running the place come from the scene, not from hospitality.

18 years of that is worth capturing on camera. Most of what exists is phone footage and setlist photos. The actual energy of that room on a Tuesday night — crowd, floor, set — is the kind of content that works on short-form and that they don't have in any polished form.

The offer: A free 60–90 second reel from one of their upcoming shows — scene, crowd, whatever's worth capturing that week. They own the footage, use it for their own channels. Entry point to paid clip work down the road.

What I don't have: A named contact. The DM goes to @529_eav. If they reply, ask who handles their social/media to get a name for follow-up.

Note on contact channel: The description asked to research 529eav.com for a web contact form as an alternative. Instagram DM is the better first touch here — music venues in this tier (DIY, underground, musician-run) respond on social before they respond to web forms. If no reply in 7–10 days, the web form is a reasonable second touch.

Hey — Ghost Coast Video, Atlanta-based live event and venue video.

529 being musician-owned matters more than it sounds. A room built by people who actually play in the scene is going to book punk, hip-hop, and experimental on the same calendar without needing to explain why. 18 years of that.

I'd like to offer a free 60–90 second reel from one of your upcoming shows — scene, crowd, whatever's worth capturing that week. You own the footage, use it for your own channels. Door-opener to paid clip work if that's ever on your radar, no pressure if it's not.

Worth a message back?

Before sending

1. Check @529_eav recent posts. If they've announced a specific upcoming show or local act, open with that instead of the general "musician-owned" framing. Current peg beats historical framing every time.

2. No named contact needed for a cold DM. Account opener is fine. If they reply, ask who handles media/social.

3. Don't reference The EARL, Eddie's Attic, or Aisle 5 as GCV clients. They're all cold prospects in the same batch. Do not fabricate relationship history.

4. If they ask about past work: Astronomia (live event and performance documentation, Albuquerque) is the closest match. Detroit Action is the nonprofit documentary case study. Neither goes in the cold DM.

5. Word count: 101 words in the DM body. Under the cap.

6. Follow-up timing: If no reply in 7–10 days, try the web form at 529eav.com as a second touch.
