Context

Halfway Crooks is a lager-and-Belgian brewpub that opened July 2019 in Summerhill as the Georgia Avenue district was reactivating, and it's grown into a small campus: the Bier Café downstairs, the open-air Dak Bar rooftop, and the HC Biergarten around two elms a hundred feet away (retrofitted shipping containers, its own bar, kitchen, and stage). The place runs like a neighborhood node, not a taproom — run club, trivia nights, Oktoberfest, Astronomy on Tap. Their own line from the private-events page: "a place of light, love, and lager."

The video angle is the room when it's full. A directory page can show the lager list and the hours, but it can't show the run club drifting back into the taproom on a Monday, the biergarten under the two elms, the rooftop open on a good night. That's the thing a still can't catch.

The offer: A free 60–90 second reel, their call on the day — run club evening, an Oktoberfest set, the biergarten on a weekend. They own the footage, no strings on the first piece.

What I don't have: A named decision-maker or a published email. The site routes contact through a form only, and no owner/ops name appears on the current site (the 2019 Good Beer Hunting feature is where the founders are named). Greeting stays generic.

Subject: A free reel of the taproom when it's full

Hey Halfway Crooks —

Run club on Monday, trivia on Wednesday, Oktoberfest Music Bingo this month — the taproom's a room that actually fills up. A directory page can list your lagers and your hours, but it can't show the place when it's doing its job: the biergarten under the two elms, the rooftop open, the taps busy on a Monday. I make short documentary reels for Atlanta spots — Ghost Coast Video.

I'd like to shoot a free 60–90 second piece, your call on the day. You own the footage, no strings on the first one.

Worth a reply?

Instagram DM (secondary — @halfwaycrooksbeer)

Hey — Ghost Coast Video, I shoot short film for breweries and venues around Atlanta.

Halfway Crooks hosts a run club, trivia, and Oktoberfest out of a bier café, a rooftop, and a biergarten in Summerhill. The room full of people is the thing a directory page never catches. I'd like to shoot a free 60–90 second reel, your call on the day. You own the footage, no strings on the first one.

Worth a message back?

Before sending

1. No published email. The site has no info@ or named inbox — contact is a web form (halfwaycrooks.beer/contact/) and a Tripleseat form for private events. The "email" above is meant to paste into the contact form; the Instagram DM is the other clean channel. The phone 678-705-5530 in targets.md didn't surface on the current site, so confirm it's live before dialing.

2. No named decision-maker. The brief assumed founder-led, but no owner/ops name is on the current site. The About page links a Good Beer Hunting 2019 piece ("Do Electric Sheep Dream of Pilsner?") where the founders are named — Brandyn can pull a name there and address them directly if he wants. Otherwise the generic "Hey Halfway Crooks —" holds for a cold first touch.

3. Instagram handle correction. The brief guessed @halfwaycrooks; the real handles are @halfwaycrooksbeer (Instagram + Facebook) and @halfcrooksbeer (X). Corrected the E8 channel cell in targets.md.

4. Two locations now. Targets.md E8 lists only 60 Georgia Ave. The brewery also runs the HC Biergarten at 640 Reed St SE (~100 ft away) and the Dak Bar rooftop. The draft references all three; Brandyn may want to keep targets.md's E8 row just to the main address or note the biergarten.

5. Czech Beer Days / Science ATL aren't on the current calendar. Current events (verified this session): HC Run Club, Oktoberfest Music Bingo (Sept 14), Damenweissen, HC Trivia Night, and Astronomy on Tap. "Czech Beer Days" from targets.md isn't listed now, and the "Science ATL benefits" maps to the current Astronomy on Tap. I cited only what's currently scheduled (run club, trivia, Oktoberfest Music Bingo) and left the rest out.

6. The "this month" in the opener is time-boxed. The homepage is promoting Oktoberfest 2026 now, so the Music Bingo line is current. If this goes out later in the fall, drop "this month" and lean on the run club / trivia / biergarten specifics, which are evergreen.

7. Keep distinct from the other Summerhill/Reynoldstown drafts. Talat Market (E9) is the Michelin Thai pop-up-to-institution origin story; Breaker Breaker (E10) is the BeltLine patio bar. This one is the community-gathering brewery campus. Don't reuse their copy, don't batch-send.

8. No fabricated relationships or metrics. Halfway Crooks is a cold prospect, not a client. No AI attribution. Word counts: ~94 in the email, ~78 in the DM — both under cap.
