The EARL — Cold Outreach

Context
The EARL has been the anchor for EAV's independent music scene for 20+ years. Local and touring bills, DIY-run, bar and restaurant attached — the kind of room where a band plays on a Tuesday and 40 people show up because that's just what happens here. That's not marketing. That's a room with a real identity.
The video hook: live shows at The EARL are the kind of content that actually performs on short-form. Not polished, not promotional — real footage of a real room doing its thing. Most venues never capture it because they're either aiming a phone at the stage or paying for something that looks like a corporate recap. Neither gets what the room is.
The offer: a free 60–90 second reel from one of their upcoming live sets. Artist's choice of song/set, they own the footage. Door-opener for paid documentation work down the road.
What I don't have: A named contact. The DM goes to @badearl, which is fine for Instagram first touch. If they reply, ask who handles their social/media to get a name for the follow-up.
Note on the inbox item's referencing of GCV-venue relationships: The item description asked to reference "GCV's work with similar music venues (Dad's Garage Theatre, Eddie's Attic, Aisle 5)." Those are all cold outreach targets in the same batch — not past GCV clients. Per editorial principle §3d, no such relationship has been claimed here. The offer stands on its own.

Hey — I do live music and event video in Atlanta, Ghost Coast Video. The EARL has been running the EAV show calendar for 20+ years — local and touring, DIY from the start. That's the kind of room where the actual show is worth getting on camera.
I'd like to offer a free 60–90 second reel from one of your upcoming live sets. Artist's choice, you own the footage. Good first step if better social content for your live programming is something you've been thinking about.
Worth a message back?

Before sending
1. Check @badearl recent posts. If they've announced a specific upcoming show, local act, or ran something community-facing recently, open with that instead of the general "20+ years" line. More specific always lands better. The founding-era line works cold but a current peg is stronger.
2. No named contact needed for a cold DM. The account opener is fine. If they reply, ask who handles media/social so the next message goes to a person.
3. Don't reference Dad's Garage, Eddie's Attic, or Aisle 5 as GCV clients. They're all cold prospects in the same batch. Fabricating that relationship would violate editorial principles.
4. If they ask about past work: Astronomia (live event and performance documentation, Albuquerque) is the closest match. Detroit Action is the nonprofit case study. Neither goes in the cold DM.
5. Word count: 80 words in the DM body. Good.
6. Follow-up timing: If no reply in 7–10 days, one more DM is fine. After that, drop it or try again after a notable show.
