Context
ZuCot Gallery is the largest African American-owned fine art gallery in the Southeast — 3,500 sq ft in Castleberry Hill, founded in 2009 by Troy Taylor and rebranded in 2012 when he partnered with brothers Onaje and Omari Henderson. The mission is in their own words: to promote original work by living African American artists, and "we are custodians of our culture." That last line is not decoration — it's how they already work. They publish a whole series of artist interviews on YouTube (Shanequa Gay, Lillian Blades, Reisha Williams, Georgette Baker, Charlotte Riley-Webb, Grace Kisa, Charly Palmer, Jamaal Barber, J. Christopher). Video is already their medium.
So the video angle here isn't "you should try video." It's that a sit-down interview shows the artist, not the work. The thing a gallery page — and even a talking-head interview — can't convey is the piece itself: the scale of it, an artist standing in front of their own canvas, the room it hangs in on Castleberry Hill. That's the one shot a fine-art gallery has to actually move someone, and it's the one a static page can't do. This is exactly the kind of work a reel is built for.
The offer: A free 60–90 second piece — an artist with their work in the room, the scale and the light of the actual gallery space, whatever shows the art the way it actually lands. No strings on the first piece, they own the footage.
What I have: Three named principals — Troy Taylor (Founding Partner + Owner), Onaje Henderson (Managing Partner), Omari J. Henderson (Partner) — but no direct email for any of them is published; the site routes through the general info@zucotgallery.com and a contact page. The greeting assumes the contact inbox reaches the team.

Subject: Free 60–90 second reel for ZuCot Gallery
Onaje —
ZuCot's the largest African American-owned fine art gallery in the Southeast, and "custodians of our culture" isn't a slogan — you already sit artists down for interviews on YouTube. What a talking head can't show is the work itself: a living artist in front of their own piece, the scale of it, the room it hangs in on Castleberry Hill.
I make short documentary reels in Atlanta, Ghost Coast Video. I'd like to shoot a free 60–90 second piece — an artist with their work in the room, whatever shows the art the way it actually lands. You own the footage, no strings on the first one.

Hey — Ghost Coast Video, I shoot short documentary reels in Atlanta.
ZuCot's the largest African American-owned fine art gallery in the Southeast, and you already sit artists down for interviews on YouTube. What the camera hasn't caught yet is the work itself — an artist in front of their own piece, the scale of it, the room it hangs in. I'd like to shoot a free 60–90 second reel. You own the footage, no strings on the first one.

Before sending
1. No direct email is published for any principal — route through info@zucotgallery.com. Three named decision-makers are verified from the site's "The Team" and "Origin + History" pages: Troy Taylor (Founding Partner + Owner — founded the gallery in 2009), Onaje Henderson (Managing Partner), and Omari J. Henderson (Partner; the three are "The Art Brothers"). The draft addresses Onaje as the managing partner running day-to-day; if Brandyn prefers top-level, Troy Taylor is the alternate and the greeting swaps. IG DM @zucotgallery is the fallback channel.
2. Org verified active this session. zucotgallery.com is live (Squarespace, © current) with the "Legacy" exhibition (themes of motherhood, activism, leadership, friendship through women artists), a Microsoft-sponsored virtual gallery (thegift.zucotgallery.com), event-rental and field-trip pages, and the artist-interview series linked straight from the homepage. Hours: Mon–Fri by appointment, Sat 12pm–6pm.
3. The hook is the "custodians of our culture" line + their existing artist interviews, not a stat dump. The gallery already makes video, so the pitch is that an interview shows the artist while a reel can show the work — the scale, the artist in front of the piece, the room on Castleberry Hill. Do not add sales figures, collector counts, artist-roster sizes, or testimonials — none were verified. The nine artist names above are the ones the gallery itself lists; don't extend the roster.
4. Named contacts confirmed from The Team page. Troy Taylor (aerospace engineer turned founder; "founded in 2009 by Troy Taylor" per the Origin + History page), Onaje Henderson (Managing Partner; mechanical-engineering background, runs the digital/tech side), Omari J. Henderson (Partner; chemical-engineering background, co-founder of Premier Art with his brother). No email for any of them is published — only info@zucotgallery.com.
5. Handles confirmed, not guessed. Instagram @zucotgallery, Facebook facebook.com/ZuCotGallery, YouTube youtube.com/channel/UCqDGT-866_eNqwab5dUy3jw, Twitter/X @zucotgallery, Houzz — all linked from the site header/footer. Address 100 Centennial Olympic Park Drive SW, Atlanta GA 30313 (the targets.md F4 cell omitted the 30313 zip).
6. Word counts: ~104 words email body, ~76 words DM. Both under cap.
7. Keep distinct from the nonprofit drafts and the other arts targets. Westside Future Fund (F1), Historic Westside Gardens (F2), and Grove Park Foundation (F3) are community nonprofits pitched on mission; Atlanta Contemporary (E3) is a free-admission contemporary-art nonprofit; Eyedrum (H7) is an experimental arts space. ZuCot is a commercial fine-art gallery whose mission is selling and promoting living Black artists — and it already produces video. The hook is the work itself, in the room, not the org's mission. Do not reuse their copy, do not batch-send.
8. No fabricated metrics or relationships. ZuCot is a cold prospect, not a client. Every fact above is from their own site this session. No invented sales figures, collector counts, artist rosters, or testimonials. No AI attribution.
Status log
- 2026-09-13: draft written by night-shift worker; org verified active and real (zucotgallery.com live on Squarespace with current "Legacy" exhibition, Microsoft-sponsored virtual gallery, and artist-interview series); found three named decision-makers — Troy Taylor (Founding Partner + Owner, founded 2009), Onaje Henderson (Managing Partner), Omari J. Henderson (Partner) — but no direct email is published, so routing goes through info@zucotgallery.com. Confirmed the real handles (IG @zucotgallery, FB facebook.com/ZuCotGallery, YouTube youtube.com/channel/UCqDGT-866_eNqwab5dUy3jw, X @zucotgallery) and corrected/enriched the F4 channel cell with the 30313 zip and named principals. Hook is the "custodians of our culture" line plus their existing artist interviews — video is already their medium, so the pitch is the work in the room, not the artist's talking head. Marked F4 drafted. Awaiting Brandyn review before sending.
